Subscription Trade Review

Have any of you ever traded an item in your subscription box? Previously, I would give the items I don't use away to a friend.  However, with the increase in my subscription boxes, and with the popularity of trading sites, I have been doing some trading.  I use My Subscription Addiction to trade (I had a previous post detailing the experience - to read more on it, click here).

Recently I had a trade that really surprised me.  I traded the One Love Organics Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Body Serum (value $39), from my April 2015 Popsugar Must Have, for the book "Stuff Every Women Should Know" by Alanna Kalb (value $9.95) and XL Silicone King Cube (value $8.99).   It is not the items that surprised me, it was how the package came. 

The One Love Organics Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Body Serum that I didn't need for the following experience: 

Sometimes, by the time my trade comes, I had forgotten what I traded for, and the package may sit there for a few days - BUT not this one.  This one I immediately wanted to take a look inside. 

While this is part of the original (Beauty Fix) subscription box packaging - the fact I still get to see "Go Ahead Be Beautiful" still made me happy. And wait! - what is this yellow thing? I didn't trade for any yellow thing. 

It is a bonus that my trading partner included - how nice! I can always use extra coffee. 

The book - "Stuff Every Women Should Know" by Alanna Kalb.  The description from Barnes & Nobles:

The King Cube Tray that I wanted forever! I tried to do a trade on this a few times, but were previously not successful - finally! I love drinking scotch and bourbon and can't wait to finally have the right ice cubes! 

While the value of the items I traded for is lower than the item I gave up, I was extremely happy with this trade because of (1) the experience of receiving this box, it was same as if I had received a new subscription box, (2) for an item that I had wanted for a while and (3) the extra unexpected bonus.
